Famous South Korean Singer, Kim Ji-woo, who’s professionally known as Chuu is making headlines after she was reportedly kicked out of K-Pop idol girl group, LOONA.
As per an official announcement made by the Blockberry Creative, which is the South Korean record label and the label of LOONA, the K-Pop idol has been kicked out from the group on November 25 for alleged “abuse of authority.”
A statement of the Blockberry Creative reads, “We’re announcing our artist Chuu has been expelled from LOONA as of November 25, 2022.
“There were many stories about Chuu, but the company and members of LOONA did not say anything for a time to prevent problems concerning the development of the team and fans.
“Because of LOONA’s affection for the team and consideration of the fans, they tried their best to show good performances and content rather than telling the truth.”
The label which is home to the LOONA as well as soloist Sunye revealed that they did some investigation regarding Chuu’s alleged abuse of authority.
The Label, which is a subsidiary of Polaris Entertainment, further added in their statement, “We recently investigated Chuu’s abuse of power, including abusive language toward our staff.
“The company’s head is currently apologizing and comforting staff. We decided to take responsibility and remove Chuu from LOONA.”
The Label continued, “We sincerely apologize to the fans who’ve loved and supported LOONA until now and ask for your forgiveness that the 12 members couldn’t stay together until the end. We and LOONA will do our best to make sure nothing like this happens in the future.”
Following the incident, the social media is divided into two groups as some fans have flooded the platforms with speculations, harsh comments and opinions as they are judging the K-Pop idol.
While many seem to be supporting their idol and trying to Protect her from these online backlash.
Who’s Chuu aka Kim Ji-woo?
For those who are unfamiliar with Chuu, let us tell you, Kim Ji-woo, who’s a South Korean Singer as well as a famous television star, was born in Cheongju, North Chungcheong, South Korea on October 20, 1999.
In December 2017, the 23-year-old singer was revealed as the 10tg member of K-Pop girl group LOONA.
Following a year, as a part of her pre-debut, the singer released her first self-titled single album “Heart Attack,” as its title track.
After the release of her album, the musicians topped number 8 on the Gaon Album Chart. For her efforts and fame, at the time, she was selected as the LOONA’s third sub unit Loona yyxy.
Apart from her, the sub unit includes members like Yves, Gowon and Olivia Hye. For those who are unversed, let us tell you, the singer has also starred in K-drama ‘Dating Class,’ along with Gyuri and Seoham.
Let us remind you once again, earlier, last month, it was reported that the singer has managed to establish her own one-man agency, which sparks the rumors that she will be exiting from Loona.
