In addition to making a comeback, Selena Gomez is putting forward a last-minute bid for the coveted title of “song of the summer.”
On Thursday (August 17), an announcement was made by the pop icon that her new track, titled “Single Soon,” is scheduled to be released on the upcoming Friday, August 25. While they wait for the completion of Gomez’s much anticipated third album, this release is meant to keep fans interested and satisfied. Sharing the track’s elegant cover art on her Instagram account, she acknowledged her fans’ persistent requests for new music: “Y’all have been asking for new music for a while.” She continued, “Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.”

Adding further details, she stated, “SINGLE SOON. August 25th. Presave it now.”
Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat’s single “Single Soon” serves as an unofficial beginning to Gomez’s new musical phase. Her supporters have been waiting and hoping for this day for a number of years. After her 2020 album “Rare” and the subsequent release of her all-Spanish EP “Revalación” the following year, she has only sporadically featured on a few singles, including the 2022 hit “Calm Down” by Rema. Additionally, she released a standalone track “My Mind & Me” to support her documentary of the same name last year.
In the cover art of “Single Soon,” Selena Gomez exudes an alluring aura as she poses in the backseat of a car, adorned in an opulent fur jacket. Notably, the star of “Only Murders In the Building” shared behind-the-scenes snapshots that featured her with friends, a wardrobe rack full of costumes, and a note with the phrase “I’m sorry I can’t don’t hate me.” This hint might imply the possibility of an upcoming music video for “Single Soon.”
This musical news comes just a week after Gomez published information about the Rare Beauty Impact Fund. In October, the entrepreneur behind a makeup empire will host an event to raise funds for the philanthropic arm of her business. This branch is committed to dispelling the stigma associated with mental illness and educating young people around the world who are interested in learning.
