Insider Héctor Gómez, who is familiar with the situation, was informed that based on the ongoing investigations, it appears increasingly unlikely that Wander Franco will participate in MLB again. These inquiries directly implicate him in the accusations against him.
Reports from TMZ revealed that social media posts emerged, suggesting an inappropriate relationship between Franco and a minor. Consequently, the Rays placed him on the restricted list on Monday, and he has not been part of any games since Saturday.
In addition to MLB’s investigation, ESPN reported that a prosecutor in the Dominican Republic revealed that Franco is under scrutiny by the National Agency for Boys, Girls, Adolescents, and Family as well as the Gender Violence Unit. This specialized division addresses minors and gender violence in Peravia province.
